What now?
Are you ready for college? Do you want to add on your Master’s degree? Or would you prefer to travel abroad? Why not do both? Because that is exactly what studying in the USA allows you to do. To focus on your studies and have an abroad experience.
But that is not all. There are a lot of advantages of studying in the USA on a sports scholarship:
1. You decide how long you stay abroad.
With a scholarship you can choose a university for yourself and decide how long you want to stay abroad. Maybe you just want to go for one semester, maybe you want to get a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (normally eight and four semesters). Choose for yourself.
2. You don’t have to wait so long for studying abroad.
A scholarship can help you get to America immediately– and you don’t have to study for years before finally getting to go.
3. You don’t have to decide your area of studies right away.
The American universities offer undecided students to try all kinds of courses. In the “General Studies” you can look into everything from an astronomy class to a lecture on medicine.
4. Your English skills will be outstanding.
When speaking English everyday you will learn it fast. The universities provide English programs and tutors for foreign students that might have difficulties in the beginning and are trying to improve their language skills. Many clients tell us they can communicate fluently in English just a few weeks after arriving on campus.
5. You get introduced to different cultures.
The university teams have athletes from all over the world because there is no other country than America that combines athletics and academics so well.
6. You get to enjoy financial benefits.
As a student in your home country you have to pay 6000-8000 Euros on average per year for rent and tuition fees. In addition to that, you also need to travel to competition/training facilities and need all kinds of sporting equipment. With a scholarship in America, the university takes care of a large portion of the financing– sometimes they pay for everything.
7. You will experience incomparable team spirit.
In America the individual athletes are claiming victory for the team, not just themselves. This team experience teaches you great team spirit- which is exactly what you need to bring into the world of work
8. You are going to get a chance to compete against some of the best athletes in the world
Each sport is at an incredibly high level. In the USA you will get to train with some of the best coaches and athletes. You are more likely to perform better and improve when you’re a part of such a high level training group.
9. More people will watch you in competition.
Sports in the USA attract more viewers than anywhere else. For an American Football game there will be up to 120,000 people in the stadium. For a volleyball or soccer game there will be several hundred or thousand people watching. Watch the following video for example, it shows the crowded Football stadium at UCLA. The atmosphere is intense!
10. As a student-athlete you can prove your discipline and ambition to future employers.
What is better on your resume than saying you received a scholarship at an American college?
Studying in the USA is more attractive than ever before!
Studying in the USA has so many benefits, also for your future. Getting a sports scholarship is your ticket to the USA. Thomas Bojanowski, one of the founders of Scholarbook believes studying in America and getting a scholarship was a great experience.
“By studying in the USA I have grown as a person. The international students on my team played a big role in that change and growth. It was exciting to meet all these different people with different backgrounds. Our team spirit was outstanding. We were always there for one another– even today, after I graduated. Now, not only friends in the USA welcome me with open arms, but I also visit my international college friends, who live all over the world”
