Dario Sieber, who has been studying since 2013 at Limestone College in South Carolina and has a scholarship in swimming, is very thankful to Scholarbook for this opportunity:
“When I started my season last summer I though this would be the end of my swimming career and after high school I would have to go to Military Training School. Thanks to Scholarbook I got the idea to rather study in the USA, and I ended up at Limestone College. I am looking forward to this adventure. To support Scholarbook I would like to say thank you once again!”

When should I apply?
The best time to get a swimming scholarship in the US is directly after you graduate from high school. The coaches like to recruit younger students so they can build a better athlete over the course of your bachelor studies.
Of course you can also go for only a few semester to the US or even do your Master’s degree while receiving a scholarship. This is made possible through our excellent relationships with the coaches.
In all cases you should contact us about a year before you plan to go to an American college. The swimming season always begins in the fall semester.
How is the training structured in America?
The highly professional American swimming coaches have different philosophies. Some rely more on quantity, while others believe in the quality of training. In all cases, training will be very time consuming. Often there will be practices early in the morning, before school and then late in the afternoon again. The weekend is sometimes also used for training, so the total amount of training quickly gets up to 25 hours per week.
For swimmers all over the world, a scholarship is therefore an excellent opportunity to reach the top international level.
You can build up your body and you will have a great support team consisting of a team doctor and several physical therapists that are up to date on the latest technique and insights. The modern training facilities will let you reach new heights, again and again.
What does the season look like?
The season starts late in October and ends with the National Championships in early April. During the season there are so-called “dual-meets”, a direct contest between two universities or large invitational events with multiple universities. There will be many spectators at the competitions. Conference Championships and the NCAA National Championships will even be televised.
Around Christmas time there is a short break from competition. Many university teams use this break for training camps in the South where it is warm, for example in Florida. Except of course if your college is already in the South, then you can train outdoors all year.
Without Scholarbook I would probably had a hard time getting a scholarship for a Master’s degree in the United States. It was a successful, organized and very pleasant cooperation!
