Athletic Success
- Seven participations at NCAA Championships, Cross Country & Track and Field
- Three rankings in the top eight at NCAA Championships (All-American Honours)
- 2nd place German Championships, 10km of road (2013)
- 3rd place German Championships, 5000m (2013)
- 4th place German Championships, 5000m (2014)
Simon Stützel is the founder of Scholarbook and our best example of how you can really improve your own performance with an athletic scholarship in the United States. During adolescence, his greatest success was only to participate in the national championships. Then, with the help of a sports scholarship he left to the Queens University in Charlotte, where he made his Master in Business Administration and began to significantly reduce his times in middle distance running. Now Simon Stützel is one of the best runners in Germany – from the middle distance all the way to the marathon.
Simons stay in the United States also paid off for our Scholarbook customers. Simon is friends with many US coaches and is very familiar with the American athletics scene. Consequently, he can offer extensive support to our athletes.
If he is not busy speaking with the coaches about scholarships, Simon Stützel is just again running through his hometown Karlsruhe. The 28-year-old even in this country trains at the highest level. Last year, he fulfilled one of his biggest dreams when he for the first time was able to wear the German national team jersey in Japan. Besides running, Simon enjoys cooking – or spending some time in the sauna.

Athletic Success
- Participation in the European Youth Olympics for the National Team (2007)
- German Youth Athletics Champion Indoor, 800m (2009)
- 2nd Position International Championship Indoor for the National Team, 800 meters (2009)
- German Champion, 4x400 meters (2012)
- Multiple honours of "All-Conference" in the United States (2013-2014)
Thomas Bojanowski has been with Scholarbook since its foundation. With the help of a sports scholarship the athlete was able to study Communication and Psychology at Wake Forrest University in the USA. “That is how I experienced how cool it is to study in the USA”, says Thomas. Because he had previously studied Sports Management for four terms in Germany, he also had a direct comparison with the German universities. “I am totally excited about my time over there and would always go back again”, Thomas continues.
But now he is dedicated primarily to Scholarbook and the clients in Germany, especially the Rhein-Main area. If you want to schedule an appointment in Frankfurt with him, please fill out the opportunity assessment and he will offer you a meeting in the upcoming days.

Several years ago Nicole Steinke moved up from being an athlete supervisor to being the Manager in Scholarbook. Meanwhile, she maintains our website, trains new employees and is busy planning large projects. Technically seen it is indeed far from her original English and Romance studies, but Nicole could not imagine a better place to work: “It’s nice to see that everyone at Scholarbook gives his best, enabling our customers to achieve their dreams”, Nicole Steinke mentions happily.
If the phone for once does not ring, then her passion is horseback riding through the countryside. Nicole then imagines being in Texas and tries to overcome her endless wanderlust.
Heads of Sport
Frederik Schulte
Head of Golf

Athletic Success
- German Boys-Team Champion (2004)
- Member of the National Men´s Team (2006-2008)
- Participation in several European Championships
- Amateur World Ranking Top 300
Frederik´s main task is to find for our golfer´s scholarships from the United States. This works especially well, mainly due to his experience. At the age of six Frederik Schulte started playing golf and was quickly called into various talent teams. At the age of 14, he moved to the Golf Club Bergisch Land, where he spent several years in a team with Martin Kaymer. By the end of the school days, Frederik Schulte had reached the German top, became part of the golf team and moved to the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2007, where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration. Therefore he understands perfectly well how you feel before your athletic scholarship in the USA. “My best experience is always to receive the positive feedback of the mediated athletes”, says Frederik.

Head of Soccer

Athletic Success
- Junior player at SC Paderborn 07, SV Lippstadt 08
- NSCAA All Region-Team (2009)
- NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region First Team
Niklas can relate very well to the fact that due to an athletic scholarship in the United States you can get to know a whole new culture and simultaneously be trained at the highest level academically as well as athletically. From 2008 to 2012, he studied Sports Management at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was sponsored by a soccer scholarship. Therefore, he is the ideal contact partner for all soccer players, when it comes to scholarships. “With a scholarship, you can live this dream of a top athlete in the US – and furthermore you even get an education that is later of perfect help”, says Niklas about sports scholarships.
Alexander Schilling
Head of Triathlon
Residence: Leipzig
e-mail: alex@scholarbook.net
Athletic Success
- German Champion Duathlon (Professional)
- German Champion Duathlon and Triathlon (Juniors)
- Top 10 rankings in IRONMAN 70.3 competitions (Professional)
- NCAA National Championship Qualifier Cross Country
At Scholarbook, Alexander Schilling is responsible for the support of the talents in East Germany. Alex himself studied with an athletics and cross country scholarship at Queens University of Charlotte (North Carolina) and at the wonderful Florida Gulf Coast University in the Sunshine State, where he completed his studies in Economics with distinction.
Prior to his studies in the United States, Alex was one of the most successful triathlon juniors in Germany. He chose to study abroad, as he saw no chance to combine the extensive training with a high-quality study in Germany. “The four years in the US were the best decision of my life. I was able to improve my performance even during demanding studies and now after receiving my degree I can even be at the start as a professional triathlete for a team”, says Alex.
Whenever Alex is not busy for Scholarbook searching for great talents in East Germany, he most probably is active in sports activities preparing himself for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii.

Christoph regrets that he did not hear about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before. He was able though to at least go to the UAA Anchorage Alaska for one semester in his master studies and therefore is able to teach his customers through first hand experience.
Christoph is 4x Austrian champion over 3,000m and 10,000m steeplechase, has been 5x at the European championships and once at the college European championships in cross country. He is a successful athlete and a reliable advisor, who is looking forward to help any Austrian athlete out there.

Thomas is very grateful for this experience because he has not only improved sports wise but has also earned his Master’s degree in Sports Administration with his tennis scholarship. However, Thomas Petrich is also aware of the difficulties an athlete has to master on his way to the USA: How do I contact the trainers? What do I need to apply for a university? How do I apply for my visa? Our customers from Switzerland no longer need to ask these questions, as Thomas Petrich is happy to provide them with his advice and assistance.
