Sebastian Wegner – Swimming – Lindenwood University-Belleville – 2014
“Everything is great here. The team is good and the university is also perfect for studying. On Monday practice and classes finally begin, but everything is really promising and professional. So I can definitely recommend the university. It is close to St. Louis, has great weather, great buildings, incredible opportunities. The university is going to invest a lot of money the next years to build up the swimming program. We are the first swim team at the college and therefore we almost only have freshman swimmers. Good German swimmers are definitely very welcome! Thank you for the opportunity that I get here.”
Hannah Schick – Basketball – Willston State College – 2014
“Hi Frederik,
First I must apologize that it took me so long to report back to you, but everything is going so good here that I almost forgot everything else. The season started 4 weeks ago and we have won 6 games and lost 3. I am currently doing great progress and I hope that I will soon get more playing time. In 2 weeks we have finals, I fly home for 10 days and from there I go to Arizona for a tournament. So it’s a bit stressful, but school is not too excessive or difficult. I benefit from the special treatment as an athlete, but I go for about 3 hours, 6 days a week to study hall. The training is fun and you you should have pride to play for this school and that it is something special to be able to play, and that you always give all you got. It is also a lot of fun to watch our boys. We have quite a few players who are only here because their grades are not good enough to play for the big teams. They’re really good!! The only thing I do not like quite as well are some types of food. My friend and my mom send me some whole grain bread, because there is no real bread here. I miss German food and my huge bed, but otherwise I have nothing to complain about;)!”
Lara-Ann Schwede – Track and Field – Wake Forest University – 2014
“I wanted to thank you (Client Advisor Dijana) for your great efforts and everything. I like it a lot here. The university is really beautiful and the people are really nice. I already feel at home and tomorrow the classes begin. I’m excited to see how it will be, but I’m very confident. It is going better with the language; I understand almost everything and I improve my speaking everyday. A lot of people also tell me that I speak really fluent English, which of course makes me very happy. I am sure that I will have a great time here. Again, thank you so much for everything!! 🙂 “
Marten Mühlenhaus – Soccer – Grand View University – 2014
“The team is great and the coaches as well. The lectures are not a problem. Everyone is helpful. I would highly recommend the university. I have liked it a lot to work with you. You always had the right answers to my questions and even if something was not going as planned you had always a plan B to get to the goal! ”
Jan Lukas Becker – Track and Field – Lamar University – 2014
“The first week in Texas is over, what can I say!?It is just awesome here, the weather is perfect, the team is great, and the university facilities are overwhelming. Simply really cool! I particularly wanted to thank both of you (Client Advisor Dijana & Managing Partner Simon) so much that you made it possible for me to get here and for all your support and help! “
Susanne Waitz – Soccer – William Carey University – 2014
“Generally, I think everyone is happy with me and I’m happy with the team and the coaches. Coach Danny and the other 2 trainers are really nice and practice is great. The games are certainly more challenging, but I can already tell that I’m making progress in soccer. “
Fabienne Gettwart – Tennis – Sam Houston State University – 2014
“I’ve had so many incredible impressions in my first week here and saw things I had never dreamed of before in my life. So far I have a really good time. I can absolutely recommend Sam Houston State University. The campus is large, but you can get everywhere within 15 minutes. The cafeteria is not far away from our dorms and the university buildings are less than 5 minutes away.
The people here are all very polite and friendly. There is a completely different atmosphere here than in Germany, people interact with each other differently. You can find any daily events you want here, such as parties, meetings, BBQs, etc. It is really hard to find NO friends here. Your first day here you get to know new people, who will become your friends and who are also very happy to help with any problems you have. This University also supports athletes very well. It offers programs and provides special teachers that can help you catch up with a lesson or work on specific weaknesses. And it’s free. You can also go to all your teachers and mentors to ask for advice or support.
The coach is very nice and helpful in general. He puts no pressure on us and has a healthy attitude towards tennis. He is also very experienced in doubles and the strategies.
Thank you again for everything. I do not know if I could have done all this without you (Client Advisor Vesna)! “
Steffi Krohn – Soccer – Mid American Nazarene University – 2014
“It’s really great here. I forget how long I have been here. I still have to get used to some things, but definitely have had a great start. We are still in the pre-season and have to work really hard, but at the end of the week, you can always be proud of yourself. Next week, the entire team will fly to California, which is going to be fun! “
Jasmin Sonnenschein – Volleyball – William Penn University – 2014
“We had a 2 week training camp at the William Penn University in Oskaloosa. The camp could get very tiring sometimes, but I can already feel that the first training session was a success!
Our schedule was fairly busy: In the morning it started at 8 o’clock with yoga or conditioning, then we had breakfast, practice, lunch, practice, dinner, practice and leisure time. The team is really nice: In addition to the many practices, we also had some team bonding, in which we did different things to get to know each other better. The first day at the university was exciting, but also showed how open the Americans are and how fast you feel like you belong.
I feel very comfortable and am happy to be here!”
Beatrice Decker – Track and Field – Alaska Anchorage University – 2014
“Without Scholarbook I would probably had a hard time getting a scholarship for a Master’s degree in the United States. It was a successful, organized and very pleasant cooperation! ”
Adam Berhe – Track and Field – Wayland Baptist University – 2014
“Thank you for all your support. It was a long way till know, but working with you was an amazing experience for me. I like it here so much. Everybody is really nice here and the athletic team is amazing. We got athletes from Jamaica and Barbados. To make this experience is so cool for me and also it motivates me to be better, something like that I would never find in Germany.
Also thanks to and best wishes to Simon. You are a great organization for talented students and I recommend you all my friends that are good in sport.
Once again thank you for all.”
